This report will showcases about the application and benefits of self managed learning which is used by me. In addition to this the study will also depict various ways in which lifelong learning in personal and professional contexts could be encouraged (Hotho and Dowling, 2010). On the other hand the study will also portray various measures taken by me in order to prepare my own personal development plan.

Self managed learning is the activity where individuals direct their efforts in terms of managing their own learning (Lifelong learning, 2013). It is termed to be consider as ongoing process as it complies with the situation of bringing change in the behaviors and attitude of an individuals. There are various approaches of self managed learning identified by me which can be used by me in order to manage my learning process. It includes reading books and journals along with attaining various types of seminars. With the help of these books and journals I can be able to access various types of models and theories as given by recognized authors which tend to help in terms of developing my own personal and professional plan.

In addition to this attaining seminars and conferences of some recognized person is also tend to help me in improving my learning skills in an effective way. This is because it is seen that people learn better when they see someone to explain themselves (Killian, 2010). On the other hand learning through research is the other approach which is to be used by me in order to manage my own learning. It is because by conducting research individuals are able to come up with various types of solutions that tend to enable them in a way to learn various aspects in an effective way (Personal development review, 2013).

Working in the environment of competition is not the simple task but it requires individuals to comply with the concept of continuous learning. This is because it is seen that the level of competition between organizations has been rising in an effective way. Due to this condition only, if any employees want to retain its job in the particular organization at that time they are have to comply with the concept of lifelong learning (Berghman and Vloeberghs, 2003).

In this respect, various ways has been used by me in order to manage my lifelong learning. With the help of self directed learning I can be able to develop my personal skills in an effective way. It can be performed by me by complying with all the aspects of self managed learning such as attaining seminars, conferences and lectures etc. In addition to this linking my higher education with the industry where I wanted to work is also tends to help in a way to manage my lifelong learning. For the purpose to perform it I will apply an internship in an organization where I dreamed to work.

Complying with this type of situation will enable me to access the management activity carried out within an enterprise. However this learning can be later used by me with an aim to provide all sorts of benefits to the corporation (Cox and et.al., 2007).

The concept relating to the self managed leaning is not only beneficial for an organisation but also to the individuals. It is because self managed learning directs the activity of individuals in a way to learn all the aspect relating to their skills in an effective way. On the other hand by complying with the practice of self managed learning individual is able to develop various types of skills in an appropriate manner (McGurk, 2010). It is related to communication, analytical and presentation attribute. With the help of self managed learning individuals are able to develop their communication skill in relation to the speech and writing. It is because such type of learning’s always helps individuals to interact more with various kinds of peoples that possess different skill. By assessing their ability individuals tends to encourages them to adopt the same. In addition to this, self managed learning also benefited individual in terms of enhancing their reasoning skill. It is because self managed learning involves various types of approaches which enables person to develop their skills in an effective way (Nutley, 2008).

Beside this the concept relating to the self managed learning has its positive effect on an organisation too. It is because self managed learning guide individual to enhance their knowledge on regular aspect. If person effectively comply with this type of situation at that time they are able to give fruitful suggestion to an organisation. It will be benefited cooperation in terms of huge amount of profits (Patnaik and Prasad, 2013).

There are various activities needs to be followed by me with an aim to implement my development plan. There are three basic career development objective is identified by me. It is related to developing communication, leadership and time management skills. In the first step for an implementation of my identified development objective, various activities will be formed by me that tend to help me in the development of my communication, leadership and time management skills in an effective way. With an aim to develop my communication and leadership skill I will read various books and journals as given by famous leaders in their field. On the other hand, time management skill can be developed by me by complying with the practice of scheduling the work of mine. After determining the source for developing the identified skills in me, in next step I will specific a specific time limit with an aim to accomplish the same. Here 2 month time will be required by me with an aim develop communication skill in me. In the similar way, 4 month time is required to develop my leadership skill and 5 month for time management skill. It is through such type of activities only I will implement my development plan.

With an aim to undertake and document development activities in planned manner, I will comply with all the aspect that I have set in my developmental plan. I will daily read books and journals on the topic that helps in the development of mine communication and leadership skill in an effective way. In addition to this, I will thoroughly comply with the practice of scheduling where I will prioritize my work on the basis of its importance. With the help of such type of thing I will improve my time management skill in an effective way.

I have set two months time period with an aim to develop my communication skill and within this period I have attended various development classes at the college. I have found improvement in my verbal communication skill but at non verbal aspect I still do not find myself competent enough. In addition to this, seminars and team building exercises has helped me a lot in the development of leadership skill in me. Now I found myself competent enough in terms of handling large number of teams. But still I found myself difficult in dealing with the person that is aggressive in nature. Time management workshop has not helped me a lot in the development of time management skill in me.

On the basis of feedback and evaluation I have directed my efforts in terms of updating my developmental plan. With an aim improve non verbal communication skill in me which involve gestures and postures I will attain various kinds of class with respect to same. On the other, my fear towards the handling of aggressive type of people will be weeded by me by directing the team of individuals that involves short tempered type of individuals. With the help of scheduling I will improve my time management related ability in an effective way.

Conclusion

Attributing all the facts from report it can be concluded that, self managed learning is proved to be one of the most beneficial affair for the management of personal and professional development. It is because this concept encourages person to comply with the practice of continuous learning.
